If you enjoy delving into History then there is plenty to discover about the Banchory area of Aberdeenshire. You can follow the Castle Trail and step back in time to discover some of the North East of Scotland’s historic castles. Two castles at Crathes and Drum are 10 to 15 minutes drive from Lochton House. Craigievar and Castle Fraser are a little further afield. All four are National Trust for Scotland properties.
