One mile north of Banchory is the Raemoir Trout Fishery where there is quality fly-fishing from April-September. There are all day, half day and evening tickets available.
Three miles south of Banchory is the Heughhead Fishings Beat on the River Feugh (from April-September). The ghillie is available for lessons and advice as required.
Further afield near Aboyne are the Glen Tanar Fishing Beats where there is salmon fishing by the day, part week or full week on 4 beats of the River Dee. There is also fishing for rainbow trout on Glen Tanar loch from March to December.
For family fishing there is fishing on 2 lochs and along part of the River Feugh at Mill of Strachan which is 10 minutes away. The lochs are regularly stocked with brook and rainbow trout. Children are charged at half the adult rate.
