Lochton House

The Aberdeen and Grampian area has a tremendous variety of walks to suit all abilities. As a walker you can connect with nature and appreciate the scenery and wildlife. From Lochton House you can enjoy the surrounding hills and woods, but after a short car journey you may prefer a stroll by the River Dee and through the woodlands of Crathes Castle where you might see a red squirrel or hear the drumming of a greater spotted woodpecker.

From Banchory, the nearest town to Lochton House, you can choose one of four walks through Scolty Woodland Park, one of which takes you up Scolty Hill. Scolty Hill rises 983 feet above sea level and the tower at the top is a prominent landmark. From the top there are spectacular views of Middle Deeside. The paths are clearly marked.
